Mersen expands its aftermarket business for Anticorrosion Equipment in North America

Mersen announced that it has acquired Louisville Graphite (LGI), a full-service company founded in 1984 that specializes in the design, manufacture, reconditioning and service of graphite heat exchangers and other graphite process equipment.

The acquisition strengthens the Mersen Anticorrosion Equipment Business in the chemical processing and metal finishing industries. Centrally and strategically located in Louisville, Kentucky, LGI allows Mersen to better serve customers in the Ohio River region, an area concentrated with many chemical and industrial companies.

According to Keith Cummins, Founder and Owner of LGI, a merger with Mersen is beneficial for both companies. “Mersen has the knowledge and experience to design and manufacture innovative solutions for the North American market. We were looking to work with larger companies and Mersen, with its excellent market recognition, gives us the opportunity to do that,” states Cummins.

Mersen’s Anticorrosion Equipment Business designs, manufactures, and services corrosion resistant process equipment in a wide range of materials, such as graphite, silicon carbide, tantalum, zirconium, titanium, nickel alloys, stainless steel, carbon steel, and fluoropolymer.
